  • Reflective letter for 1st half, 2021
    As a Teacher/Teaching Experience 2021. 6. 29. 10:50

This is a reflective letter for my students to lead self-reflection, looking back the PE classes

    It was not easy.
In a short time, we did these things together. I wanted to let you know about these things.

Let's remember the lesson and reflect on it. Last time we checked grades in numbers, but more important than that number is the real learning that will remain with you. Today, I would like to take some time to review my activities while looking at the contents of the above class and confirm learning.

Memory is not accurate. When a memory remains in the brain, only the important scenes remain and the detailed scenes would disappear. If we remember every single detail, our brains will become oversaturated with an enormous amount of information. Because our brain only remembers important scenes, the details we have missed are compensated for through the process of memory reconstruction.

The process of reconstructing memory is mainly colored and filled with 'emotions'. When we feel any pleasure or displeasure in our minds, our brains are actively engaged in newly formed neural patterns. So emotions go beyond actual experiences and reshape memories and make them stay deeper in your heart.

Our brains have a negative bias. This is because a delayed response to a positive one does not cause any major problems for survival evolutionarily, but a reaction to a negative one, such as a predator attack, is an absolute threat to survival if the moment is missed. Therefore, it is natural for negative emotions to come to us first and come to us in a big way. Negative emotions such as I wasn't good at doing it, I wasn't interested in it, I didn't like to do it, etc., while recalling the class, can be reconstructed and reinforced negatively by attaching to incomplete memories during the memory reconstruction process.

I hope that the time we spent together will make you happier. I hope you understand and overcome the negative biases of the brain. For happiness, I want you to pull out the negative weeds from the garden of your heart and plant beautiful flowers in your memory. To do this, I suggest two methods. First, if you had a positive experience during class, you should actively remember and reflect on this joyful experience. Second, when negative emotions and memories come to mind, you can actively recall positive emotions and prospects and use them as an antidote.

Let's remember our class with positive emotions. And let's remember it in the name of learning. And tell me about it.
