  • [Community of Practice] What brought us here in this early morning.
    As a Teacher/Teaching Experience 2020. 10. 18. 17:21

    We gathered at 7 A.M, which is extremely early in the morning for me as of a weekend, despite consideration taking more than 1 hour to get there(wanna note some of us spent almost 3 hours to just get there). Nobody could be likely to say it was easy. 

    What brought us here?

    We all came here as a physical education teacher under the name of Good Physical Education Class Share Research Group which is definitely a long and wordy name considering that a group name is supposed to be short and clear.

    We had a great time sharing our thoughts on what brought us here and how this group has come from. It was crystal clear different from our community title. "Interaction" We came here to be a better teacher with a positive influence on each other. We know that we will develop because we are together. As far as we are together as a great individual teacher who endeavors to build better classes, our community allows us to keep enthusiastic, considerable, and contributory teachers. 

     

    Our community had been getting bigger and bigger as we had put a lot of effort to share our research results and wonderful teaching methods. As time goes by, we confronted tempting external demands that were trying to utilize our community as a commercial method. Some of us have shown that this is a great chance to upgrade and expand our role in a competitive world gaining additional perks, while others thought it just a part of temptation which is likely to break our precious values up after all. It was a strong enticement that is not easy to be turned down because many of those were closely connected to some of us personally.

     

    Again. What brought us here?

     

    We reminded this question again so as to rewind our community to the beginning. We gathered here to be a better teacher, not just showing that we are great or better than other teachers. We naturally believe that the sense of being appreciated is one of the powerful motives to keep teachers work hard in the community. On the other hand, there should have an obvious priority when it comes to an ambiguous circumstance. And the guideline is that our values should go first. Our entire values are based on the fact that we want to be a better teacher. Obviously, the better teacher is not a person who is greedy to be famous or get more money by their effort but a person who overcomes the past themselves. We are not here to get more money by doing this. Even though how important to have the power to influence other teachers is, we decided to secure core values so that our invaluable community holds our ground.   

     

    We will gather again early in the morning because we want to be a better teacher by being together.
