  • 9. Two reasons to make a routine

There are two reasons to make a routine.

    1. Making a comfort zone to challenge
Students will learn in routine. They will do similar things again and again. Similar to the point where students will not be bored but understand what will come next. Making a routine is like a making a comfort zone. The more comfort zones we have the better chances we can challenge to get out of the comfort zones. Without safe environments, every step will be reluctant and scared to do. It will be necessary to build and stand on a structure to lean on.

    2. Giving similar chances to apply better skills
In a routine, students will face similar situations. They will make mistakes and be uncomfortable. We will focus on the moments and reflect on what will be the good choice for exactly the moments. They will understand but it does not mean they will apply the better choice. We need to make similar circumstances and that is where a routine gets useful. To practice and exercise the SEL skills, a routine is likely to give environments compared to the former one. You know, practice will make perfect.

    P.S.
6 teams in a class started to make their own games. The projects should hold 4 different games and everyone should operate a game. As I just wrote, it is important to have a comfort zone but at the same time, it is crucial to make them push out of the zone. That is not the foci of today's class and should be the mission of my next class. How to motivate my students? Motivation matters. It depends on how a teacher utters and encourages, which will make something different.
