    [Education Essay] On-line education must turn On interactivities.

     

    Who would have known? Nobody has ever imagined this freaking pandemic stands long like this. As a matter of fact, looking back, I feel like I pretended that I was standing ahead of other teachers when it comes to Ed techs. That was why I have taught several urgent CPD programs related to Google Ed techs without feeling any shame about it. After the second wave theory came to reveal that it has enough possibilities and numerous European countries suffered from, the belief, the education system I have believed hitherto could be demolished, turned out to the very close reality.

    I have to confess that I, in fact, abandoned my online physical education teaching a bit in the first semester. I had tried to make Phyed and hand-tutting videos hoping that my students enjoyed their physical activities imitating the video contents. We had spent a lot of time considering what content should be in the video, recording it with unfamiliar equipment, and editing it comparing other astonishing references on Youtube. The student's participant ratio, however, was under 50% calculating the submitted assignments, which made me and co-teachers feel disappointed. I just fell into the downward spiral feeling that I am useless as a teacher who does not know how to teach, which is connected to the miserable 2nd-level lockdown and brought COVID blue.

    Now, we are in the second and last semester of this academic year. We started to meet students in online video platforms such as Zoom or Google hangout. There were various opinions that this policy is going to make other problems like showing their family wealth or taking the starch out of watching a small screen for a long time. Even though the worrisome stories exist, the office of education and schools eventually decided that every class should start with the methods of video interactive because all the people knew the severe problems.

    After then, everything has changed with regard to students' endeavors to participate in online classes. This circumstance also made teachers put more effort into their class preparation and using multiple technics. I was one of them and change my emotional problems. I did come to think of the most important thing in education, which is interactivity between students and their teacher. I, as a teacher who has been teaching for more than 7 years in several middle schools, have not believed the simple and natural fact; the interactivity should be ahead of other specious things like teaching contents and technics. The interactivity could ignite their relationship as a teacher and students and help them to focus on their contents because they acknowledge each other as familiar being.

    Online education is likely to eradicate the importance of interactivity in education due to its intrinsic features. Without it, online education would leave just a burden that solely exists for the student's graduate certificate. If online education is to be education, it should possess interactivity.
